President Stevandic attended the ceremonial Academy on the occasion of 48 years of work of the University in Banja Luka

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Dr Nenad Stevandić attended today in Banja Luka the ceremonial Academy on the occasion of 48 years of work of the University in Banja Luka. In addition to President Stevandić, the ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University Radoslav Gajanin, Minister for Science and Technology Development and Higher Education Željko Budimir, Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government Senka Jujić, President of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of the Republic of Srpska Rajko Kuzmanović and Arnaud Guyon director of the Directorate for Cooperation with the Diaspora and Serbs in the Region.

Addressing the audience, President Stevandić said that universities are the most important institutions founded by a country and wished the University in Banja Luka to produce academic citizens with as much knowledge as possible to preserve and improve Srpska.

“By cherishing knowledge, we cherish our strength, because only societies that rely on knowledge can hope for success”, said Stevandic.

The University in Banja Luka was founded on November 7, 1975, and today it has 16 faculties, Art Academy, and the Institute for Genetic Resources.
