The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandć, met today in Baja Luka with the chief of the Organisation for European Security to BiH, Ambassador Brian Aggeler.

The meeting was about the actual political situation in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina and the importance of mutual dialog and cooperation has been stressed, in order to preserve peace and stability in the region.

President Stevandić informed Ambassador Aggeler on the democratic capacities of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the institutions, and the possibility of bringing decisions in the Republic of Srpska on its own, following the constitution of the Republic of Srpska and the Constitution of BiH.

He confirmed that the Republic of Srpska will not allow making decisions in BiH, without the compliance of entities and people in BiH, because this is not under the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement, and that these acts will be considered unacceptable. As an example, President Stevandić stated the behavior of the Ambassador of BiH in the United Nations, Zlatko Lagundzija, related to the acceptance of the Resolution on Srebrenica in the United Nations General Assembly, without the compliance of the BiH Presidency.

Stevandić expressed readiness for a constructive dialogue in solving issues of common interest.
