President of the RS National Assembly Nedeljko Čubrilović expressed during a meeting with HE the Iranian Ambassador Seyad Hossein Rajabi readiness to achieve greater economic cooperation, emphasizing that the key commitment of RS authorities is the real sector development and the increase in the number of employees.

Ambassador Rajabi expressed his commitment to intensify economic cooperation between Iranian and companies from RS and BiH, noting that there is considerable scope for trade expansion, particularly in the field of agriculture.

He pointed out that one of the obstacles to closer economic cooperation achievement is the fact that the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina still adhere to the embargo in relations with Iran, although, as he said, these restrictions, in the meantime, were significantly mitigated by the European Union and the United States.

In a conversation with Iranian Ambassador, President Čubrilović said that, in accordance with international standards, there is interest in achieving greater economic cooperation, stressing that a key commitment is real sector development and the increase in the number of employees.

He added that, according to that aim, the National Assembly recently adopted first set of draft reform laws in order to strengthen the real sector and reduce the tax burden.
