President Stevandić attended the solemn reception commemorating the anniversary of the promulgation of the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska and January 9th, the Day of the Republic
The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr Nenad Stevandić, attended today in Belgrade the solemn reception marking the anniversary of the promulgation of the first Constitution of the Republic of Srpska and on that occasion said that the Constitution of Srpska is indivisible from January 9th.
“We are already in the fourth century of the Constitution of Srpska, which is indivisible from January 9th. This shows that we are at a high level of self-respect, very firm in our convictions”, said Stevandić to Srna on the eve of tonight's reception.
He stressed that few generations changed and that leadership and people stay as the defender of the Republic of Srpska and keep its property and institutions.
“We try to decide about leaders and presidents of Srpska, and not foreigners. This struggle has not always been easy and demands sacrifice,” pointed Stevandić.
He remarked that the founders of the Republic of Srpska went through Golgotha.
“We have to be ready to further sacrifice, and also the generations to come to celebrate January 9th and February 28th, the Day of the Republic and the day of the first Constitution, because Constitution adopt literal, conscious and big people,” said Stevandić.
The reception at the House of the Serbian Army is attended by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, the President of the Republic of Srpska Milorad Dodik, the envoy of the President of Serbia Nikola Selaković, the Presidents of the Assemblies of Srpska and Serbia Nenad Stevandić and Vladimir Orlić.
At the reception, which began with the singing of the national anthem of Serbia and the Republic of Srpska, the Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education Željko Budimir, the Minister of the Interior Siniša Karan, the Minister of Labor and Veterans and Disabled Protection Danijel Egić, the Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić, the Minister for European Integration.and International Cooperation Zlatan Klokić, Transport and Communications of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović, Minister of Health of Serbia Danica Grujičić, as well as the head of the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska Mlađen Cicović, who is also the host of the reception.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deputy Chairperson of the Council of Ministers, Staša Košarac, the Chairperson of the Council of Peoples of the Republic of Srpska, Srebrenka Golić, Darko Mladić, representatives of the diplomatic corps, prominent figures from the world of culture, science, art, economy and sports of Serbia and Srpska, academics, generals, scientists, representatives of native associations and other officials.
The tenth, jubilee reception in Belgrade on the occasion of marking two significant dates - the Day of the Republic of Srpska and the anniversary of the promulgation of its first Constitution, is organized by the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Serbia.
