President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović pointed out at today's meeting with Swiss Ambassador Heinrich Maurer problems of citizens who have loans tied to the Swiss franc exchange rate, noting that it is necessary as soon as possible, to find a way to resolve this issue, as it has been resolved in some countries with similar problems.
During today's meeting, President Čubrilović pointed out that certain foreign banks abused lack of knowledge and awareness of citizens, as well as the fact that the financial market regulators in BiH have not invested enough effort to protect its citizens from possible consequences.
Speaking about the work of the National Assembly, President Čubrilović said that the parliament is working at full capacity and that, since the formation of this assembly, held nine sessions at which it discussed some of the most important laws for citizens, economic development and creation of favourable environment for investment.
He informed the Ambassador that the National Assembly, at the last special session, adopted a set of draft reform laws aimed at improving the regulation of financial markets and the creation of favourable conditions for the business community, including the reduction of tax levies for the real sector.
Čubrilović (emphasized that the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska is unambiguously committed to the reform process, progress and respect of human rights, respecting the Constitution of both, the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Furthermore, the interlocutors exchanged views on the promotion of cooperation in the fields of tourism, economy and trade, as well as on the situation in the banking sector.
