The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandic, received today in Banja Luka the ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Bosnia and Herzegovina, H.E. Lee Fan, with whom he discussed the improvement of bilateral cooperation, as well as the current political situation in the Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
President Stevandic expressed gratitude for China's consistent support for the principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and respect for international law, stressing that the Republic of Srpska highly values the friendly and principled stance of the People's Republic of China on matters of importance for its stability and development. He especially thanked the People's Republic of China for voting against the anti-Serbian resolution in the United Nations General Assembly.
He also expressed his gratitude for the fact that China does not condition economic cooperation on political blackmail, and emphasized that the Republic of Srpska respects the policy of one China. He added that the Republic of Srpska will continue to act within the framework of the Constitution and the Dayton Peace Agreement and that it will always advocate for peace.
President Stevandic extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Li Fan and expressed his confidence that the relations between the Republic of Srpska and the People's Republic of China will continue to develop in the economic, social, cultural, and educational sectors. He added that the Republic of Srpska provides equal conditions for everyone, without political blackmail or interventionism, which Chinese companies recognized and took advantage of.
