President Stevandić Attended the Solemn Commemoration of the Patron Saint Day of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Srpska – St. Archangel Michael

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Dr. Nenad Stevandić, laid a wreath today in Banja Luka at the central memorial, on the occasion of marking the Patron Saint of the Ministry of Interior (MUP) – Aranđelovdan. The memorial bears the names of 782 members of the Ministry of Interior /MUP/ of the Republic of Srpska who gave their lives in the Defensive-Patriotic War.

Wreaths were also laid by Prime Minister Savo Minić, the envoy of the Serbian member of the Presidency of BiH, Maja Gačić, the Minister of Internal Affairs of Srpska, Željko Budimir, and the Director of Police, Siniša Kostrešević, as well as delegations from Serbia and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for the city of Moscow.

Flowers were laid by the family members of the fallen members of the MUP of Srpska, Senator of the Republic of Srpska Aleksandar Vulin, delegations of the Third Infantry (Republic of Srpska) Regiment, the Veterans' Organization of the Republic of Srpska, the Republican Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians, the Organization of Concentration Camp Detainees, and the City of Banja Luka.

Commander of the MUP's Guard Unit of Srpska, Vitomir Petričević, reported to President Stevandić.

After the laying of wreaths, a liturgy and a memorial service for the fallen members of the MUP were held, and the Slava bread and wheat were blessed in the Memorial Church of St. Archangel Michael at the Training Center in Zalužani.
