The sessions of the National Assembly are public and Parliament has provided all the technical prerequisites for live TV broadcasts

The National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, with its Rules of Procedure and Rulebook on the Publicity of work, ensured the right of publicity of work for all media representatives who monitor the work of the National Assembly.

All media are provided with all the technical options for live TV broadcasts.

The press room in the National Assembly building, where they monitor the sessions of the National Assembly, has been provided for journalists who monitor the work of the parliament. In the Press Room, journalists have computers, telephones and internet connection available.

The sessions of the National Assembly shall be transmitted directly on the website of the National Assembly.

Regarding the speeches of the Members of Parliament at the 7th Regular Session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, concerning the publicity of the work of the National Assembly and live television broadcasts of parliamentary sessions, we would like to remind you that in accordance with Article 271 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska “the sessions of the National Assembly and its working bodies are public. "

Article 1 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly defines that the publicity of the work of the Assembly is ensured by creating conditions for television and internet transmission of Assembly sessions, press conferences, issuing official announcements, facilitating the monitoring of the Assembly by representatives of the media ".

The National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska has complied with all the provisions of the Rulebook on Publicity of Work.

The National Assembly is transparent in its work. All media houses are provided with conditions for smooth work and all technical prerequisites for live tv broadcasts.

The National Assembly cannot in any way influence the decision of the media houses whether to broadcast any session directly. Media companies make that decision on their own, based on an editorial assessment of viewers' interest in a particular agenda item that parliament is considering.

When it comes to the Public Service of the the Republic of Srpska, its relation to this issue is defined by the Law on RTRS and Reporting Principles from the sessions of the National Assembly.

The sessions of the National Assembly shall be broadcast by the Republic of Srpska Radio Television of the Republic of Srpska in accordance with the Law on Radio and Television of the the Republic of Srpska.

Article 13, paragraph 7 of the Law on Radio and Television of the the Republic of Srpska, which refers to Programming Principles, states: “RTRS has the right, in accordance with its editorial guidelines, to transfer sessions or parts of sessions of the National Assembly of the RS or RTRS has an obligation to another suitable a way to inform the public about assembly activities. To this end, the RTRS shall have free access to sessions of the National Assembly. "

Since Article 8, paragraph 1 of the RTRS Law, RTRS is “autonomous in its activities, it has editorial independence and institutional autonomy, especially in areas such as: establishing a program scheme and program conception and production”, the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska cannot "order" the RTRS to live broadcast sessions.
