The President of the National Assembly Nedeljko Čubrilović has scheduled a consultative meeting with leaders of Parliamentary Parties in Republic of Srpska tomorrow, February 17, 2020, regarding the holding of a Special Session of the National Assembly to discuss Information on the Anti-Dayton functioning of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

The consultative meeting, which will be held in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska (Oval Salon, 1st floor), will also be attended by the President  of Republic of Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, at whose request a special session of Parliament was scheduled.

President Čubrilović invited SNSD President Milorad Dodik, SDS President Mirko Sarovic, PDP President Branislav Borenovic, SP President Petar Đokic to the meeting, DNS acting president Nenad Nešić, NDP president Dragan Čavić and United Srpska president Nenad Stevandić.

"Given that the representatives of all parliamentary parties unanimously supported the adopted conclusions and agreed that it is necessary to hold a special session of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska in order to adopt adequate measures regarding the unconstitutional decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH, I expect all participants to be consistent and respect the word that they gave at a meeting with the president of the Republic of Srpska, "said President Čubrilović.

President Čubrilović called on all political parties to contribute so that a Special Session of Parliament would be held in a dignified atmosphere and in line with the highest constitutional and legislative body of the Republic of Srpska.

"I expect the presidents of the parliamentary political parties in the Republic of Srpska to rise above narrow-minded political parties' interests and to influence their MPs so that a special session can be conducted in a constructive and dignified manner, in the interests of the citizens and the Republic of Srpska," said the President of the National Assembly and President of DEMOS.

President Čubrilović reiterated that, by adopting the contested decision regarding the constitutional review of Article 53 of the Law on Agricultural Land of the Republic of Srpska, the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has shown that it is inconsistent and contradictory to itself, bearing in mind that it is the same court, at different periods, made different decisions on the same subject matter in relation to the Republic of Srpska, the Federation of BiH and the Brcko District.

"This time, as in previous cases, against the interests of the Republic of Srpska and its citizens, two Bosniak and three foreign judges voted in the same way," Čubrilović said, adding that the BiH Constitutional Court acts by the rules itself has set, by no democratic will of citizens and no accountability.

"If the Constitutional Court of BiH does not judge by the Constitution and law, but makes political decisions against the interests of citizens and the Republic of Srpska, then the National Assembly, as the highest democratic and representative body of the Republic of Srpska's government, has an obligation and the right to make decisions protecting its territory, property and citizens from violent and undemocratic decisions, “said President Čubrilović ahead of tomorrow's Special Session of the National Assembly and a consultation meeting with the presidents of parliamentary parties in Republic of Srpska.
