Informal Club of Women MPs Formed: Promote Women's Rights in the Republic of Srpska

A meeting of all women MPs was held at the premises of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska today, with the formation of an informal Club of Women MPs to promote the rights of women in the Republic of Srpska.

MP Dušica Šolaj said after the Initiative Committee session that a Women's club was formed, consisting of representatives of various political parties represented in the National Assembly.

"The aim is to adopt in the coming period the Work Program and Rules of Procedure of the Club of Women MPs. We will strive for the full affirmation of the position of women, both in politics and in our society. Together we will fight for greater women's rights, as well as for greater rights in the areas of child and social protection and related areas, "she said.

Member of Parliament Gordana Vidović expressed her satisfaction that women MPs had organized themselves in this club.

"We intend to establish a work program for 2020 at the end of January, as well as activities by the end of the Tenth convocation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska" Vidović said.

It was pointed out that all members of the informal Women's Club of MPs remain members of the MPs' clubs of their political parties.
