Seminar in the framework of the Twinning Light Project

In the framework of a new Twinning project supported by the European Union, in the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, began a two-day seminar on the topic "Support the strengthening of activities related to EU-related information" in the framework of a new Twinning project supported by the European Union.

The aim of the seminar for the employees of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the parliaments of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of BiH and the Brčko District is to train and improve parliamentary services and to strengthen the capacities of parliaments regarding the fulfillment of European tasks and obligations.
The bearer of the new Twinning project is the Hungarian Parliament, so lecturers at the seminar are Kristian Kovac, Head of the EU Department of the National Assembly of Hungary and his deputy Zuzana Rostashi-Sabo.

The opening speech was opened by the Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Marko K. Aćić, who pointed out that this is a unique opportunity for the Parliament of Srpska, together with colleagues from the parliaments of BiH, FBiH and Brčko dictrict, and with the support of the Hungarian Parliament, which strengthens parliamentary capacities for the implementation of upcoming obligations on the road to the EU.

"I can proudly say that the Parliament of Srpska fulfilled the recommendations from the previous Twinning project and established the EU Unit that will be strengthened in the future. The aim is to bring the process of harmonizing laws with the European legal acquis to a higher level and accelerate the European path of the country, " said Aćić.

Kristian Kovac and Zuzana Rostashi-Sabo spoke to the participants of the seminar on the experiences and practices of the Hungarian Parliament regarding information about the EU, the process of EU accession, the functioning of relevant parliamentary bodies, recommendations for parliaments in BiH and the writing of European newsletters.

In the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska on June 23, 2017, the opening ceremony of the Twinning Project was held, titled "Support to administrative structures for the affairs of integration into the European Union for parliaments in Bosnia and Herzegovina".
