The Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska at the meeting within the Twininng Project in Sarajevo
The Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Marko K. Aćić attended today, October 12th , 2017, in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH in Sarajevo, the meeting of Secretary Generals and Seceretaries of Parliaments in BiH, within the Twinning Light Project which is being financed by the EU, and with the aim of increasing the role of parliaments in the country in the context of European integration.
Twinning Light Project “ The Support for Administrative structures for integration of BiH parliaments in EU”, is being managed by the National Assembly of Hungary.
The meeting was attended by Delegation of EU in BiH and the Organization for Security and Co-opration in BiH (OSCE).
The mechanisam of cooperation between parliaments was analized and the analisys on adopted action plans for increasing the role of parliaments in BiH in the context of European integrations was published.
They talked about the preparations for the implementation of IPA 2016 projects, as well as the preparation of the Conference of the Chairmen' Chambers / Presidents' of Parliaments. It was about harmonizing the terms, formats and proposals of the agenda items of the Conference of the Chairmen / Presidents of Parliaments, as well as on the harmonization of the proposals for the possible adoption of a joint statement on the revision of the action plans.
The Secretaries General of the Parliaments in BiH discussed the possibilities of linking the Parliamentary Cooperation Mechanism and the Coordination Mechanism at the level of executive power in BiH, and the possibility of establishing joint working groups for the implementation of measures of the action plans that they foresee.
The meeting also discussed possible forms of mutual assistance between parliaments at the level of parliamentary services.
After considering these points, the Secretaries-General of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a Protocol on the issuance of a joint EU bulletin to be drawn up by the representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Brčko District Parliament.
