President Čubrilović attended the commemoration of the Memorial Day of the victims of crime in the concentration camp Jasenovac

The President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović attended the central event at the Memorial area of Donja Gradina near Kozarska Dubica on the occasion of commemoration of the Memorial Day for the victims of crime at the concentration camp Jasenovac and its largest homestead Donja Gradina.

President Čubrilović, together with President Željko Cvijanović and Prime Minister Radovan Višković, laid a wreath on the grave field of Topola for more than 700,000 Serbs, 80,000 Roma and 23,000 Jews who were killed in the Jasenovac system of Croatian concentration camps.

The President of the Republic of Srpska Željka Cvijanović has said that Jasenovac, as the site of the most massive suffering of Serbs in World War II, is a symbol of genocide and a huge historical wound that will never heal completely and that it has emerged on the pages of hate, ill, dark ideology and the concept of extermination.

"The suffering that has happened here is more than genocide, and neither legal nor moral terminology knows the appropriate qualification for the malice, inhumanity and vigilance of the methods used for executions or for the ideological-political concept behind it," said Cvijanović in addressing the audience in Donja Gradina.

She pointed out that the horror of these crimes is not reflected only in the frightening number of innocent victims killed in the most absolute way, but also in the fact that it was an institutional, pre-planned genocidal project of the Independent State of Croatia / NDH /, whose ultimate goal was physical destruction of Serbs, as well as Jewish and Roma people.

Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić announced the joint construction of a memorial center in Donja Gradina.

"We are here from year to year and forever. It is our obligation, responsibility, and pledge for the future, knowing that we appreciate freedom, but also respect for another human being regardless of religion and nation," said Ana Brnabić.
She said that the Serbs as a nation survived despite all the tragedies.

The celebration began with the Holy Archbishopric Liturgy, which was attended by the Episcope of Banja Luka, Jefrem, in the Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Kozarska Dubica.

The International Commission on the Truth of the Jasenovac System of Croatian Concentration Camps concluded that the Croats in Jasenovac and Donja Gradina killed more than 700,000 Serbs, 80,000 Roma and 23,000 Jews.
