President Čubrilović and Gojković opened the exhibition "25 years of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska (1991-2016)" in Belgrade

President of the National Assembly of the Republic of  Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović and the president of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia Maja Gojković today in the Archives of Yugoslavia in Belgrade opened the exhibition of archival documents "25 years of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska (1991-2016)".

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by many guests.

"Thank you for coming to the opening of the exhibition, which is part of the celebration of 25 years of existence and work of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska. I thank the administration of the Archives of Yugoslavia in Belgrade, which have proven to be good hosts for this exhibitions,"said President Čubrilović in his introductory speech.

President of the National Assembly said that the opening of the exhibition continued marking important anniversaries - the day when the process of constitution of the Republic of Srpska started, whose main goal was the preservation of our political, territorial, national and spiritual identity in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Čubrilović reminded that the exercise of the constitutional functions of the National Assembly passed through different periods of development and operation, and that they characterized the adoption of a number of historical and critical decisions that have had a very important role and significance in the development, preservation and promotion of the Republic of Srpska.

Relations of the Republic of Srpska and Serbia, first of all, based on our national identity, our history and the bonds of brotherhood. On this occasion, I want to underline the very good cooperation between the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska and the National Assembly of Serbia, and especially with the current leadership headed by President Maja Gojković," concluded Čubrilović.

President of the National Assembly of Serbia Maja Gojković pointed out that the exhibition, which follows the historical sequence of events,  is testifying  about the National Assembly's essential and crucial place in the formation of the Republic of Srpska, and that she had to make many difficult fateful decisions of life and the future of its citizens.

She noted that this exhibition, as well as any contact with each other, is an opportunity for Srpska and Serbia to improve and strengthen political, economic and cultural ties.

"The strength of our mutual support and cooperation will always be the best example and guarantee of peace and stability in the whole region. We are obligated on this by our history, but also by the present and the future of our nation," she said.
