MP Darko Banjac participates in the work of the 26th General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly in Tbilissi, Georgia

MP Darko Banjac takes part in the work of the 26th General Assembly of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, which is held in Tbilisi, Georgia, from 19 to 23 June.

On the first day of the session, MP Banjac met with Irakli Kobakhidze, Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia with whom he exchanged views on parliamentary democracy and the role of parliament within the state system.

Banjac later met with the President of the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy, Sergei Gavrilov, to whom he conveyed the greeting of the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska, Nedeljko Čubrilović, and handed out an invitation to visit the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska.

On the second day of the session, the session was interrupted as opposition MPs and demonstrators entered the parliament violently, demanding that the Interparliamentary Assembly President Sergei Gavrilov and the Russian delegation immediately leave Georgia.

Afterwards, the Interparliamentary Assembly of Orthodoxy continued its work in the committees, and Banjac is a member of the Committee on Legal Affairs and the Committee on Political and International Cooperation.
