Delegation of the National Assembly passed the wreaths at the monument in the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Complex in Saint-Petersburg

The delegation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska led by the President Nedeljko Čubrilović laid the wreaths at the central monument at the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Complex in St. Petersburg, where the day of the start of the siege of the then Leningrad was being celebrated, which was deployed by the German forces on September 8, 1941.

President Čubrilović together with Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Vjačeslav S. Makarov laid wreaths on a monument to civilian and military victims of the Leningrad siege in World War II.

The heroic defense of Leningrad is a historic example of strength, endurance and readiness for the sacrifice of the people who fought for freedom and their homeland," said President Čubrilović, expressing honor to the victims and defenders of the city - the hero who gave millions of victims during a three-year siege.

Wreaths were laid and victims were honored by numerous Russian delegations, as well as a delegation from St. Petersburg , led by Governor Georgy Poltavchenko.

In the Piskaryovskoye Memorial Complex, 490 000 civilians and soldiers were buried in the siege of the then Leningrad.

The delegation of the National Assembly, on the third day of its stay in St. Petersburg, visited the management of Vodokanal, which is engaged in the processing, distribution and management of water in St. Petersburg. They expressed their interest to visit the Republic of Srpska and in partnership relations, to cooperate with Vodovod in Banja Luka and share their experiences and technology.
