President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska Nedeljko Čubrilović presented at  press conference the results of the work of the National Assembly in the first and second quarter of 2017.

"The National Assembly of Republic of Srpska in the I and II quarter of work in 2017 adopted three laws more than was planned by the Program of Work and eight thematic units more than planned. In the form of the draft, 11 laws and six thematic sections were adopted, exactly as planned by the Program of Work of the National Assembly of Republic of Srpska for the first six months of 2017," said President Čubrilović.

He stressed that with these results, the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska fully fulfilled the Work Program in the first six months of 2017, and even did more than was envisaged by the Program.

"I want to emphasize that in this way and the pace of work, and this time, National Assembly is the most efficient parliament in BiH, and I would like to thank the MPs for their efficient work," said Čubrilović.

Parliament Speaker added that at the session on March 30 this year, the National Assembly, after many years of persistent insistence of the public, adopted the Decision on amendments to the Rules of Procedure and draft Code of MPs, after which we expect the work of the Parliament to be even better and more efficient.

"We have no reason not to be satisfied with the results we have achieved," said Čubrilović.

Speaking about the investments of the National Assembly in 2017, President Čubrilović said that only one will be realized during this year, in the summer break of the session.

"It's about building an elevator and toilet for the disabled in the parliament building. Building a lift for wheelchair users will be enabled to access to the first and second floors of the National Assembly where the cabinet of the president, vice-presidents, salons, parliamentary committees and parliamentary clubs are located," said President Čubrilović.

The public tender for the elevator for persons with disabilities was announced on June 29th, and its value is 79,900 KM. The tender is due to end on July 14th.
